The Beatitudes describe the attitudes that ought to BE in the believer’s life. These Attitudes should BE in my life. Matthew 5:3-10 Blessed - A joy which has its secret within itself, that joy which is serene and untouchable , and self-contained, that joy which is completely independent of all the chances and changes of life. Beatitude believers are untouchable. Untouchable ARE the poor in spirit Poor in spirit - Admitting spiritual bankruptcy and having a humble and honest attitude toward self. Romans 12:3 Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgement , in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
