Big Idea:

One day Jesus will come back to make everything new. God's people will live with Him forever!

Read Together

Revelation 21:3–4– "Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people… He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more."

Revelation 22:20– "Surely I am coming soon."

The Story

The very last book of the Bible is called Revelation. It gives us a sneak peek of the future—a picture of what will happen when Jesus comes back.

John, one of Jesus' disciples, saw a vision of a brand-new heaven and a brand-new earth. He saw a beautiful city, shining with God's glory, with streets of gold and gates of pearl. He saw a river of life and the tree of life, just like the garden of Eden—but this time, it will never be ruined.

Best of all, John heard a voice from the throne saying: "God's home is now with His people. No more sadness. No more sickness. No more death."

And then Jesus Himself said: "I am coming soon."

That's the ending of the Best Story of All—and it's also a brand-new beginning!

Advent Connection

At Christmas, we celebrate Jesus' first coming—born in Bethlehem, wrapped in swaddling cloths. But Advent also points us forward to His second coming, when He will be the forever King in the forever Kingdom.

Talk About It

• What will the new heaven and new earth be like? • What will NOT be there anymore? • How do we know Jesus will really come back?

Activity

Forever Feast

• Bake cookies or share a special treat as a family. • Talk about how the Bible describes heaven like a wedding feast—a celebration that never ends. • While eating, say together: "Come, Lord Jesus!"

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for coming the first time at Christmas. We can't wait for the day when You come again to wipe away every tear and make all things new. Help us to wait with joy and hope. Amen.

Family Challenge

Tonight, before bed, step outside and look at the stars. Remember that God's promises are as sure as the night sky. Then say together: "The Best Story of All ends with Jesus—and it never ends!"
