Big Idea:

God is holy, but He forgives us through Christ.

Read Together

Isaiah 6:3– "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!"

Isaiah 6:7– "Your guilt is taken away, and your sin atoned for."

The Story

Isaiah was a prophet who saw something amazing—God on His throne! The temple filled with smoke. Angels covered their faces and cried out, "Holy, holy, holy!"

Isaiah realized he was a sinner. "Woe is me!" he cried. "I am a man of unclean lips!"

But God showed mercy. An angel touched Isaiah's lips with a burning coal and said, "Your guilt is taken away, and your sin is forgiven."

Advent Connection

Isaiah's vision reminds us that God is holy—we can't stand before Him on our own. But Christmas is the good news that the Holy God came near. Jesus, Immanuel, makes us clean.

Talk About It

• What does "holy" mean? • Why was Isaiah afraid when he saw God? • How does Jesus make us clean?

Activity

Shining Clean Hands

Give everyone a dab of washable paint, cocoa powder, or even flour on their hands. Then go wash together until hands are clean. Talk about how Isaiah felt "unclean," but God touched his lips and forgave him—just like Jesus washes us clean.

Prayer

Holy God, You are perfect and pure. We confess our sin and thank You for sending Jesus to forgive us and make us clean. Amen.

Family Challenge

Tonight, light a candle and say together: "God is holy. Jesus makes us clean."
