Big Idea:
Jesus is alive! He rose from the dead to give us new life.
Read Together
Luke 24:5–6– "Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen."
The Story
On Sunday morning, some women went to the tomb where Jesus had been buried. They wanted to put spices on His body. But when they got there, the stone was rolled away—and the tomb was empty!
Two angels told them: "Why do you look for the living among the dead? Jesus is not here—He is alive!"
The women ran to tell the disciples. At first, the disciples didn't believe it. But soon, they saw Jesus with their own eyes. He really had risen from the dead!
Jesus' resurrection means the snake didn't win. Sin didn't win. Death didn't win. Jesus won!
Advent Connection
Christmas and Easter belong together. The baby born in Bethlehem is the Savior who conquered the grave. Advent reminds us that the Rescuer has come—and Easter reminds us that He is alive forever!
Talk About It
• Who were the first people to see the empty tomb? • What did the angels say? • Why is it good news that Jesus is alive?
