Vision keeps you on target and helps you stay passionate. There may be a million things clamoring for your attention, but clear vision keeps God’s priorities central. — Bayless Conley

Vision: Help People Know God
John 17:3
And this is eternal life, they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom you have sent.
An “informationship” is information without intimacy, knowledge without relationship, theology without encounter.
What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us. — A.W. Tozer
John 17:24
Father, you loved me before-the creation of the world.
God is revelaed as a loving father.
The essence of God is intimacy. His eternal posture is not grasping but giving.
Love is not something God has, Love is who He is.
Helping people know God means inviting people into the most real and authentic relationship of their lives — a relationship with the God who created them, and who loves them more deeply and faithfully than anyone else ever could.
Mission: Practicing The Way of Jesus
Following Jesus isn’t just about believing the right things, it’s about becoming a certain kind of person.
2 Corinthians 3:18
We are to be being transformed into [Christ’s] likeness
Romans 8:29
Predestined [all believers] to be conformed to the likeness of His Son.
“Being transformed” refers to the process.
“Conformed” refers to the finished product.
We’re on a a journey to become like Jesus!
Pursuit #1: The Presence of God
At New Song Church, we pursue the presence of God by seeking Him first and above all else.
Jesus shows up where He’s invited.
Revelation 3.20
Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
The #1 person we want at New Song is God!
Did I help host the presence of God today?
Was my worship pleasing to God?
Was my serving pleasing to God?
Were my conversations pleasing to God?
Pursuit #2: Transformational Discipleship
We pursue transformational discipleship by focusing on spiritual formation and living into every Christian’s destiny — to progressively grow in Christlikeness.
True discipleship must result in transformation. To profess Christ yet remain unchanged is to deny His very power. For the Spirit of God is not given to decorate the soul but to recreate it. We are not called to admire Jesus, but to resemble Him. And this, mark it well, is no option. The soul that resists transformation resists Christ Himself. — A.W. Tozer
1 John 2:6
Whoever says he abides in Him ought to walk in the same way in which He walked.
Christianity, for many, is not about being like Jesus; it has been reduced to a cultural tradition.
The gospel does not merely inform us; it transforms us. Cultural Christianity gives you information about God, but no intimacy with Him. It teaches you the language of faith without the life of faith. And that is dangerous, because it convinces people that Christianity is an accessory—something you add onto your life—when in reality it is a new creation, a whole new identity. The gospel always creates change. Where there is no change, there is no gospel. — Tim Keller
Ephesians 4:22
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
You don’t just drift into Christlikeness; you deliberately put off the old patterns and deliberately put on the new life in Christ.
Pursuit #3: Kingdom Community
We pursue relational community by living into the reality of the family of God and desiring unity across generational, racial, political, and economic divides.
1 Thessalonians 4:13
We do not want you to grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.
BE THE CHURCH—Church = Family!
Ephesians 2:19
You share citizenship with God's people and are members of His family.
“Members of His family” - related by blood
Family is where you’re fully known and fully loved.
The church isn’t a social club you attend when it fits your schedule. It’s a family you belong to, a people you commit to.
Acts 2:42
All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— 47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Pursuit #4: Sacrificial Mission
We pursue sacrificial mission by giving, serving, and loving sacrificially in our homes, our church, our community, and the world.
The way of Jesus is the way of sacrifice.
Luke 9:23
“Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.”
To truly follow Jesus means to live a life of sacrifice.
Romans 12:1
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God— this is your true and proper worship.
Matthew 16:25
For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it.
In God’s kingdom, surrender is gain.
