World: Building God’s Kingdom through Prayer

After focusing on God’s presence personally and within our homes, we now look outward. This final week is an invitation to join God’s mission through prayer by interceding for our city, our nation, and the nations of the earth. We ask for revival, justice, and transformation. A major function of prayer is to shift our hearts to better reflect what is in God’s heart, so don’t be discouraged if you find it harder than the previous weeks to engage with the daily focus. Often, our hearts need to be softened to others, injustices, and issues that don’t personally touch our lives. Prayer is where we can ask God to break our hearts for what breaks His. Press in and press through!

Day 15: Unity

John 17:20-21 "I am not asking on behalf of these alone, but also for those who believe in Me through their word, that they may all be one; just as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me."

Prayer Type: Intercession

Focus: Pray for unity in the global church. Long for the Spirit to heal divisions and foster a tangible expression of Christ's love that transcends cultural, racial, and denominational boundaries.

Activation: Pray for a different local church by name. Look up the names of some of the pastors on staff and pray for them and their families. Consider writing a letter or email of encouragement to that church or pastor.

Day 16: Justice

Amos 5:24 "But let justice roll out like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream."

Prayer Type: Lament

Take a moment to quiet your heart.
You don’t need to pray everything below.
Ask the Spirit to draw your attention to one area, and begin there.

Pray for justice to roll like waters in…

  1. Our Hearts & Church
Repentant hearts where we’ve stood aloof or uninvolved
Hearts that grieve what grieves God
Courage to obey beyond comfort or convenience
A church whose worship overflows into loving action as His hands and feet
(Pause and listen. Where is God inviting repentance or obedience?)

  2. Our City
Families facing poverty, housing insecurity, or food scarcity
Children and students impacted by under-resourced systems
Isolated communities facing barriers to dignity, access, and care
Local leaders, educators, social workers, and first responders placed here for such a time as this
(Name your neighborhood, a school, or a face God brings to mind.)

  3. Our Nation & World
Global poverty, economic inequity, and lack of access to education
Nations marked by conflict, war, or political instability
Broken places becoming opportunities for the Church to respond
A Bride moved to lament, pray, and intercede faithfully
(Hold one nation or people group before the Lord.)

  4. Our Response
Willingness to act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God
Faithfulness in small, unseen acts of obedience
Strength to pursue justice without losing compassion
Trust that God’s justice is redemptive, not merely corrective
(Ask God for one step of faithfulness today.)

Praying Together as New Song

Our Church
Pray for the Body of New Song to faithfully say yes in the organizations, workplaces, schools, neighborhoods, and communities God has sent us into.

Our City
Pray that the story of the Bride would be clearly read in our city - through Serve Saturday, the Heart & Hands Community Assistance Program, and partners like Hope Is Alive, Kairos Prison Ministry, and Hope Center of Edmond - so that needs are met and injustice is confronted by the strength of God alone.

Our Nation & Our World
Pray for more laborers for the harvest of the world. Pray that we would stand as the Church for the nations wherever Kingdom reality is lacking. Pray especially for our New Song Network partners confronting modern-day slavery, like The Pearl House, and those moved by mercy in times of war, like The Woodall Foundation.

Closing Prayer Prompt
Lord, let Your justice roll through my life today.
Show me where to pray, where to listen, and where to act.
Amen.
